This competition will take place as part of the ascent of Driskill Mountain in Louisiana. The team will be making margaritas at the summit and is therefore seeking the most outstanding margarita recipe to use.
Prize: The winner will have their margarita named as the Official Margarita of Driskill Mountain as well as have their margarita consumed on the summit of Driskill Mountain. The winner will be credited in the summit register atop the mountain. Additionally they will receive a hand-signed photograph from the State Highpoint Tequila Team. Winning entrant will also be immortalized forever in the annals of the State Highpoint Tequila Team.
Jury: The jury will consist of a handful of distinguished personages with considerable expertise in mixology.
Eligibility: Entries are limited to one per person. Everybody is eligible to submit an entry. To be considered, entries must be received by 4:00 PM Friday, January 16th.
Rules:
1. Recipes must be posted in one of two ways: As comments on the official blog or comments on the imported Facebook note corresponding to the blog. Anonymous entries cannot be accepted.
2. Only traditional margaritas will be accepted (no strawberries, mangoes, kiwi, or other feminine fruit may be added to the margaritas).
3. Entries must list both ingredients and quantities of each (e.g. 2 oz. Patron Silver Tequila). Combined quantities must create a single serving. Quantities that result in significant leftover margarita can result in point deductions.
4. Feel free to use any ingredients but be apprised that the jury reserves the right to make any modifications due to availability, limited income, or for any other reasons. In every case, substitutions will be made with the aim of preserving the original intent of the recipe.
5. Drinks will be judged in reverse order in which they are received so get your entries in early.
6. Margaritas will be judged "on the rocks" though on the mountain they will be served frozen. This is to facilitate the judging process.
